Our EmployersThe Downsize Farm community is a lovely web-work of dedicated staff, supportive families, volunteers and agencies but our vocational program is dependent on local businesses who are willing to provide training and work sites, and who will work with us to provide customized employment options for our people. We recognize that companies cannot afford to place a person with disabilities as a charitable endeavor; they must be able and willing to learn the job DF and the business carved out for them. To support our vocational process, our business partners have offered job shadowing and tours to vocational clients who are beginning to explore the work world. They have hosted enclaves to allow small groups of clients and their staff to do work on the business site. They have provided off-site work to allow us to learn individually-targeted soft skills through a ‘work adjustment’ program. They have allowed on-site work adjustment training and evaluation.

Our local business partners have worked with us to carve out and match jobs to the talents and skills of our clients. The most successful employment situations are those that serve a need of the business and fit the skills and desires of our clients. We have even been asked by our employers to help our clients learn additional skills so that they can advance in their jobs.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to partner with these businesses: |
